Book clients on social media with Squarespace Scheduling

Did you know that you can add a “Book Now” button on Instagram & Facebook using Squarespace or Acuity Scheduling?

Well, it was news to me!

I’ve been using Squarespace Scheduling for years, for both myself and many of my clients. But, up until now I’ve only used the Zoom integration (sets up my Zoom meetings automatically when clients book - really useful). So, when I had the opportunity to go to a demo all about the marketing integrations available for Scheduling, I was really interested to see what else was out there.

These included integrations for Reserve with Google and Squarespace email campaigns.

Finally, they started showing how you could add a “Book Now” button to Facebook and/or Instagram and I got excited.

I could see right away how amazing and useful this would be for so many people. You could promote your workshops, events or classes on your social channels and have your clients book them right there, taking away that extra step that your clients have to take now!

So how does it work?

There are 2 methods for adding your buttons. The first method allows you to add your button to your Facebook business page with the option of adding it to your Instagram profile. The second method is for businesses who only want to add the Book Now button to their Instagram profile.

Method 1: Add a Book Now button to your Facebook Business Page / optional Instagram

To get started you will need:

  • A Squarespace Scheduling or Acuity account. Acuity was bought by Squarespace a few years ago, so this will work if you have an account with either one.

  • A Facebook Business page

  • An Instagram business profile (optional)

You may want to have your Facebook Business Manager account set up as well, but you will have the opportunity to set it up during the integration if you haven’t already done it. If you would like to have the book now button applied to your Instagram account, make sure to connect your Instagram account to your Facebook Business Manager.

You will also need to have your business name set up in your scheduling account.

Set your business name:

  1. In your Squarespace Scheduling or Acuity account, click Customize Appearance

  2. Add your name in the Business Name field

  3. Click Save Changes

Add your Book Now button to Facebook

Facebook Business & Instagram Integration
  1. From the Home Panel, click Squarespace Scheduling

  2. Click Integrations

  3. Scroll down the page to the Web Builders & Social section

  4. Under Facebook Business & Instagram click the Set Up button

  5. Click Connect to Facebook and follow the instructions

  6. Choose your Facebook Business Manager or, if you don’t have FBM follow the instructions to create a new account

  7. Click Continue and follow the next steps

  8. Click Done

If your Instagram business account is connected to your Facebook Business manager, you will be able to add the button to both accounts during this process.

Method 2: Add a Book Now button to your Instagram only

If Instagram is your main social channel or you don’t post to Facebook often, you may want to add appointment booking only to your Instagram Business account. This method lets you add your appointment button directly through Instagram, without having to use Facebook Business Manager.

*This method isn’t available everywhere yet. Instagram says it is slowly being rolled out. It wasn’t yet available on my profile when I tried it out.

To get started you will need:

  • A Squarespace Scheduling or Acuity account.

  • An Instagram business profile

  • The latest version of Instagram

Add your appointment booking to your Instagram profile

  1. Log into Instagram (this works on mobile device only)

  2. Tap Edit Profile

  3. In the Public Business Information menu, tap Contact Options

  4. Tap the Add an Action Button

  5. Select Acuity Scheduling (Acuity was bought by Squarespace a few years ago. Acuity and Squarespace Scheduling are the same thing now)

  6. Tap Next, then Next again.

  7. Follow the steps to continue as your Instagram Business Profile.

  8. Tap Next to confirm your Squarespace account. You may need to log into Squarespace to complete this step.

  9. Tap Go to Profile

  10. Refresh the page to view your new Book button! Woo!

By adding your Book Now button to your social media channels you’ve now removed a barrier for your clients, making it faster and easier for them to book that workshop, class or event with you.

Don’t want to do it yourself? Let’s work together to make it easy!

I’ll take care of the design, coding and details, while you get back to business.
